Wisconsin Dairy Goat Association

Share-A-Kid Registraion Form

Each year the Wisconsin Dairy Goat Association promotes interest in dairy goats in our state. One of the ways we encourage our young people in this aspect of agriculture is through our Share-A-Kid program. We place dairy goat kids with young people across the state and have even had interest from Michigan's Upper Peninsula.

Winning applicants are selected from the essays they send in, and agree to fulfill a number of requirements in regards to their new goat. The contest is open to those between the ages of 10 and 17 years, are members of WDGA, 4-H, FFA or other agricultural groups.

An application form as seen below should accompany essays. Be sure to complete the form with all required signatures. Winners are required show their animal at a county fair or open class goat show.

Their essay should tell why applicants would like to have a dairy goat, and how they would take care of it (food, shelter, medical care and most of all LOVE). Winners are not required to give an offspring back to the program, but are welcome to do so. NOTE: If in less than a year of receiving the animal, the winner finds that they can not keep it, the donating party is to be contacted concerning the animal's future.

Attach the application form to your essay of 50 words or more. Essays can include drawings or any other special thing you want to send. Entries will be excepted from Jan. 1 to April 1.

Applications should be sent to:
